This is a J-curve.

Although it isn't an actual J, it's shaped like one?

What is the purpose of the J-Curve?

Simple:

  -It's the perfect diagram for the Pick up learning process.

Those 4 numbers represent the areas in which a PUA goes through.

1)Start/Freefall: This is where most new PUAs begin. This is where they see the actions, hear of the terms, and begin to learn the basics. At first, it's a fun time,
and you get to see some reactions and such, but as you learn more, stuff becomes harder. A majority of PUAs (85%) fall under this category.You notice your technique isn't up to par, and that you need to learn more stuff. Soon enough, you'll reach...

2)Pain Period/Shitland: This is the sucky part of Pick up progression. This is when you seem to think nothing works, and that you are plateauing. You keep banging your head against the wall, and are frustrated at your lack of progress. Girls dont seem to be receptive to your DHVs and Negs, you're inner game is shaken up, everything the PUGs say piss you off, and you're questioning your sanity. Unfortunately, this is the longest lasting phase of pick up, and where progress is made with action. Fortunately, this happens to EVERYONE! This is how you learn. With enough time, you experience that epiphany, and HOPEFULLY move onto:

3)Upward change in game/Skyrocketing: Suddenly, out of nowhere, you feel different, women notice, and suddenly, things are changing. You have more women to talk to, people are respecting you, and you're feeling like God. This is the 3rd stage, and only few PUAs get here (Mostly the ones who care and bust their asses). You can actually take a rest, and still move up, but why rest? You can go out, and attract WAY more women than before. It's like an express elevator to Pussy Paradise! Now 4:

4)Breaking the 4th wall/Breaking the 4th wall: That's all it is. You've broken the 4th wall of male/female interaction. You are a FREAKIN Player! Notice that the top of the J looks like ground, and when you've got to that 4th stage, you break PAST the ground, and become the kingpin, like a bat out of hell. Only few have reached this point.
