Chronic NG, despite a checkered past. I returned from my one-year PhD internship, to discover my girlfriend of 3 years, and many alleged friends, had betrayed me in a variety of ways. On 09/05/2007, I cut them all loose. I began a slow process of re-creating myself, exploring this new freedom, and moving forward in life; determined to have and exercise choice in my future relationships. Self-esteem, self-confidence, and sense of competence is at an all time low, but on the rise.
I stumbled upon ASF at some point. I'm very green. My initial sticking point right now is approach anxiety, lack of openers, experience, etc.
On a broader scope, storytelling/DHVs/fluff-talk is my major sticking point. I have no material. My specific line of work and training revolves around intentionally NOT conveying my own personality, wants, needs, etc. In the field, this results in almost instant LJBF, so I need to work on this a lot.
Also, having just turned 35, and now alone, I find that my prior "avatar" and style is immature, and does not advocate for the type of women I am now interested in attracting. Working on self-presentation in that area, too.
